The official competition season (or outdoor season) is from Labour Weekend until Easter Weekend, although we shoot all year round and hold some competitions during winter. Like many other clubs in New Zealand, Auckland Archery Club hosts both registered and postal tournaments, especially over the summer season. These include tournaments specifically for youth archers, including the College Sport competition for Auckland secondary schools during Term 1 each year.
Please check the Shooting Calendar below for details, or visit ArcheryOSA.com for national events and the Auckland District Archery Association website for district events.
Results and photos from past events can be found on our Facebook page.
*In case of rain there may be indoor shooting
We shoot ALL YEAR ROUND on weekends.
Saturday mornings are most usually Youth Archery sessions, often with a Beginners Course running alongside.
Saturday and Sunday afternoons are open to everyone. Please come at 1pm to register for the 1.30pm shoot.
Sunday mornings may be open for coaching or competitions.
Weekday shooting is subject to seasons and keyholder attendance.
In Summer, Tuesday evenings from 6pm – 8pm are open for member shooting. Wednesday evenings are often open for School shooting.
In Winter, evenings are closed from 6pm.
If a keyholder is in attendance, the club might be open for member shooting. NOTE: the outdoor range is not open on Mondays or Thursdays.
Auckland Archery Club is based in Maungakiekie/One Tree Hill Domain, and is subject to daylight savings park hours.
In Winter these are 7am to 6pm.
In Summer these are 6am to 9pm.
Keyholders may shoot at any time. Winter evening shooting should be restricted to inside the clubhouse. Archers are asked to park at Sorrento (outside the gates) to avoid being locked into the park.
If the club is hosting a tournament or competition, the club may be closed to casual member shooting. Please check our shooting calendar below for the dates of these events. Event entries will also be emailed to you by our Club Captain in our weekly newsletter.
If there is an event on, members may come to watch. If a keyholder is in attendance, they may be permitted to shoot indoors, dependent on space and safety.
